Natamycin is a highly potent fungal inhibitor and shelf-life extender. It is a completely natural compound produced through a controlled fermentation process using pure strains of the bacteria Streptomyces natalensis. Following extraction, filtration, and washing, the product is processed to ensure maximum quality and purity.
In Iran, it is commonly known as anti-mold powder, pimaricin, anti-mold, or anti-fungal. (Note: While “josh-e-doogh” is also used as an anti-mold agent, Natamycin is a superior natural alternative). It is environmentally friendly, and its solution competes effectively with traditional chemical preservatives like potassium sorbate.
